Bookkeeping and Tax Filing for Foreigners in Spain

The quarterly and yearly returns that come with living, working or owning property in Spain, kept and filed in English by a firm of tax lawyers, for a fixed fee.

Accounting from the firm that already handles the hard part

Most of the people who contact this firm arrive with a cross-border question: a move to Spain, a pension paid from another country, shares in a foreign employer, a company abroad. Once that question is answered, a second one follows almost every time: who is going to file the returns every quarter and every year, and can they do it in English?

That is what this section is for. The recurring work is done on Salama Tax, the accounting platform of SALAMA LEGAL SLP, by the same firm and under the direction of the same lawyer. It runs on fixed fees, with a client area where documents are uploaded, invoices are issued and every filed return is kept.

What makes it different from a local gestoría is the starting point. The books are kept by people who deal every day with treaties, foreign currency, clients in other countries and second tax systems, so those things are handled as routine and not as exceptions.

You answer a short questionnaire

It tells you which returns apply to you and what the fee is, before you sign anything.

You sign an engagement letter

It lists the returns we file for you, the fee and the authority to act on your behalf, and nothing else.

You upload documents; we do the books

Invoices and receipts go into your folder as they arrive. We read, classify and record them.

You approve a draft; we file

Before each deadline you receive the figures. Once you are satisfied, we file and send you the receipts.

What this service is, and what it is not

It is recurring compliance for individuals: the self-employed, property owners, pensioners. It is priced as a subscription because the work repeats.

It is not a substitute for advice on a transaction or a dispute. Planning a move, structuring an investment, applying for the special regime for new arrivals or answering an inspection are engagements of their own, described under how we work. It does not cover companies, which need corporate tax returns and annual accounts, or the filing of tax returns in other countries.

We work in English and Spanish.

Our office, and what clients say

Plaza Andalucía 6, Torremolinos (Málaga). Most of our clients never need to visit: everything is done online. The map shows the office and the reviews left on Google by clients.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a different company from the law firm?
No. Salama Tax is the name of the accounting platform operated by SALAMA LEGAL SLP, the firm behind this website.
Why do the sign-up links go to another website?
The questionnaire, the client area and the invoicing tool live on salamatax.com, which is where the platform runs. You are dealing with the same firm.
Do you work with companies?
No. The recurring service is for individuals. Company accounts and corporate tax are outside it.
Can I start in the middle of a tax year?
Yes. We rebuild the year to date from your documents and the returns already filed.
